With a love of clothing comes a level of responsibility to how best manage the environmental impacts. designer Angelo Urrutia masterminds a novel way to breathe life into vintage garments. Each piece is hand-selected for the process, being sourced and then sent to 4SD's Italian ateliers for refinement and modification.
The process starts with garments being over-dyed in black dye – no matter what the original colour – before then being taken to the sewing table for structural adjustment. Each hoodie is opened at the sides, creating a detail which would be familiar to 4SD regulars who may recall the Jerga hoodie. The kangaroo pocket on the front is removed and re-applied internally, creating a hidden pocket which works in conjunction with the now open side hems.
The most distinctive modification is the over-dyed feathers applied at the hemline, forming Angelo's tribute to traditional native Meso-American dress. Each sweater is then finished with a de-bossed vachetta leather size tag, affixed to the outside.
Please note: Each sweater is made with a vintage up-cycled garment. This is a one-off piece which is the one you see in these images. Each item is quite unique so pay close attention to the texture and patina in the images. If you have questions about fit or specifics feel free to .
